2013 Bitcoin Wallet Transfer: $60.7 Million Worth of Cryptocurrency Moved

Link to tweet

A wallet that hasn't been touched since 2013 was awakened and transferred 2,071 Bitcoins worth a staggering $60 million on the 20th April 2023

These Bitcoin were bought when the price was at a mere $663 each meaning the buyer received a staggering profit of  4,258%, not only this but they still have another 4000BTC left in the wallet

I find it absolutely insane that someone manages to hold onto that kind of wealth for 9 years and decide to sell now and not when Bitcoin peaked at over $60k

PRE-ORDER: Apollo BTC - A Bitcoin ASIC Miner and Desktop Class Computer running a Full Node

Futurebit.io have announced pre orders 05/02/21 for the new and very classy looking Apollo BTC desktop miner. You have a choice of three different options all listed below

Full Apollo Package: This is our Full Package option that comes with everything you need in the box. The Apollo BTC Unit with our latest controller built in, and our 200W Power supply with power cable.

Standard: This option is ONLY the Apollo Hashboard, with no controller or power supply. Our new hashboard has a micro USB port, and can be used as a USB device. The Full Apollo Node can control multiple standard units through its USB ports. We wanted to give our customers an option to expand their hash power in a cost effective way. If you already have a Raspberry Pi, or Linux/Windows Desktop Computer and a power supply with two PCIE power ports you can also control our Standard unit in this way with our stand alone miner software (please note this setup will be for more advanced users, and the software will be command line based on launch).

Standard + Power Supply: Same as our Standard unit above, but comes with our 200W Power supply. This is a plug and play solution if you already have a Full Apollo Package. Take it out of the box, plug in the power supply, plug in the micro USB cable to the back of your Full Apollo BTC and it will automatically recognize the second hashboard and start mining!

Prices start at $349.99 and can be found here

New Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 Will Feature New Code

Core is officially being updated and this could be the most exciting update that we have seen in almost ever. Everyone's complaints with Bitcoin is normally about transfer times and transfer costs and early in 2017 we did see transaction costs spiralling into silly money, well this could possibly be about to change forever

Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 will officially support Segwit which focuses on scaling the network to be faster and cheaper. Although Segwit has been around for a little while now its not until recently we have seen further adoption which has seen the amount of waiting transactions in the mempool drop drastically. Also along with Coinbase confirming they are in the final processes of adding Segwit support themselves this (until lightening network) could be one of the biggest changes we see to Bitcoin Core yet.

You can check the Bitcoin Core Github Here
Release I believe is expected around the 1st May

Bitcoin Gold Fork Expected October 25th

On October 25th we will see another Bitcoin fork but this time it will be very very different from what we have seen before. This is a community activated fork and it is a complete change of algorithm, it will now use Equihash which in simple terms is mined by GPU's.

When Bitcoin Cash was announced I got my free coins and dumped it as I just see it as free money, with the upcoming release of Bitcoin Gold I am a bit more sceptical. I seriously will be considering holding onto this as I see an answer to Bitcoins transaction and mining issues with keeping the name. Make sure you have Bitcoin in your wallets come October 25th!

Whats your thoughts on this? Will you dump or hodl?

Electroneum Mobile Crypto Currency

Today I have come across Electroneum which is an ICO that is gathering a big following and from watching the video above you can see why. One of the hardest things with crypto is getting started and learning everything from wallets to mining, as the video says Electroneum aims to end this and make crypto more accessible to more people.

The future as the video says is aimed at gamers, a currency that can be used between games and transferred into real money. It has a great team behind it and I definitely think it is worth keeping an eye on

Check out Electroneum here

Best FREE Poloniex Profit Spreadsheet

If you are into trading, which I am very very much so and use Poloniex a lot then you may know it can be really tough sometimes to see or track your profit. So you think a spreadsheet will be perfect for you to track your crypto trades but you cant make one as you are not an Excel Guru. This is the situation I was in, nearly all spreadsheets are paid for and usually are not cheap which I think is ridiculous considering we are all in this to try and make some money.

That was until I came across "guesswho1234" FREE poloniex spreadsheet on bitcointalk. I have followed this spreadsheet and in the early days it was not great, was tricky to use and not very clear on how it works. I have now returned to the new version of his spread sheet and wow it is absolutely perfect for us Poloniex traders. First of all its free, which is a great gesture from gueswho1234 as you can see how much work has been put into this spreadsheet. Secondly it is so so easy to use its unreal. Simply click the data button, load your Polo tradehistory.csv, select a date and check your profits

Bitcointalk thread is here showing latest revisions and download link

Direct download link, advise checking above for latest version

If you feel generous you can tip guesswho1234 for his hard work on this spreadsheet, this info is taken from his forum profile

First Batch of Radeon Mining GPU's Revealed

So over the last few days on our Facebook page we have been hearing about the rumours that there is mining GPU's in production and aimed for release very very soon. Well over at overclockers.co.uk they have now listed various Radeon GPU's for sale all with figures for mining Eth.

Sapphire Mining Editions cards:
Sapphire Radeon RX 470 MINING Edition 8192MB GDDR5 Samsung 7 Gbps (11256-38-10G) – 25-28MH/s ETH
– Sapphire Radeon RX 470 MINING Edition 8192MB GDDR5 7 Gbps (11256-37-10G) – 24-27MH/s ETH
– Sapphire Radeon RX 470 MINING Edition 4096MB GDDR5 Samsung 7 Gbps (11256-36-10G) – 24-27 MH/s ETH
– Sapphire Radeon RX 470 MINING Edition 4096MB GDDR5 7 Gbps (11256-35-10G) – 23-26 MH/s ETH
– Sapphire Radeon RX 560 Pulse MINING Edition 4096MB (11267-11-10G) – 12-15 MH/s ETH

Now the figures aren't fantastic when reflected against the price but when you consider there are no 580's in stock in the UK and these are available to pre-order now this could be huge for people with GPU farms. Another thing that I think this is huge for is it shows that cryptocurrency is getting some serious recognition, finally people are waking up to the fact that it is not going anywhere and is here to stay
