Ethereum surges past all time high GPU's Moon In Price

 

GPU prices are currently insane, 3060ti's selling for over £1k here in the UK when the recommended retail is only £400. This is all down to the current surge in Ethereum which has smash all time high after all time high and honestly I dont know where its going to stop. Vitalik Buterin has now become one of the youngest billionaires ever with a staggering 330,000 Ethereum. 

Going by whattomine.com it seems pretty much every GPU is now back in the green, and even over here with our high electricity costs it is not profitable to get our GPU's mining again. It sucks that I sold all my GPU rigs and now its even impossible to even consider buying any due to the huge over pricing because of the demand. Getting a 30 series if your a gamer is damn impossible, and until Ethereum comes down in price which it does not look likely to do anytime soon GPU's are going to still be selling like mad

Which Algo Switching GPU Profit Miner?

Recently my L3 has been performing incredibly well on mining rig rentals so I have been looking to the GPU side of my operation a little bit more. Currently I sold all my GPU rigs and I am left with two GTX 1070 to mine with. Alot of people use Nicehash as its very very simply but with Nicehash you aren't always making the most of those GPU's and getting a possibly more BTC

So the alternatives....

Firstly I looked into Awesome miner. I already use Awesome miner to monitor my L3 so it was really easy to set it up. I created a profit miner for my GTX 1070 and selected the algorithms I wanted to mine and entered my BTC address for payout. Then it was a simple case of right clicking the profit miner and start.

Now my only issue with Awesome miner is the payout in Dollars is a little optimistic at least, its always incredibly high and its very unlikely you will see a return on that scale. Secondly I probably wouldn't use Blockmasters as a pool if you only have 1-2 cards as the payout is extremely high. Other than that once you get your head around the many menus within Awesome miner its a great program which can monitor your rigs with ease

Next I still wasn't 100% with Awesome miner, mainly because it was the free version and I wanted a bit more freedom without paying. So I done some more research and found another program which is 100% free and claims to get more profit than Awesome Miner

NemosMiner is based on MPH miner which I did not really get on with but Nemos is much easier thanks to its friendly config setup. Once you have downloaded and unzipped Nemos miner you will be presented with an interface, ok its not as pretty as Awesome Miner but it does the job.

Once you have gone into config entered your BTC address and selected the pools you wish to mine at its simply a case of hitting the start button. Once started every 120 seconds it will check to make sure you are mining the most profitable algo across multiple pools. I have to say I have found this to be my most profitable program that I have used, it may not be as simple as Awesome miner but it is worth the setting up

Dont forget if you want to be really really lazy and looking for something which is the most simple then I would probably stick to Nicehash

Purpose Built Crypto Heater

When you think you have seen majority of innovations in the crypto world something always comes along to surprise you and the QC1 will definitely do that. Now I have a few issues with this product....  Firstly, what the hell are you going to do in the summer? You want to do some mining but its hot outside you aren't going to turn your heater on to start mining. Secondly the price, it has a retail price of 2900 Euros which is roughly $3575 which for two RX580's to mine only in the summer in quite frankly ridiculous. As you can imagine the QC1 I am pretty sure unless you have free electricity will never provide you with a return on your investment and as the mining world moves forward and the RX580's become old and slow you will be left with an inefficient heater.

So if you leave somewhere that is permanently cold and have free electricity then this could be what you have been searching for. If not don't bother

So over the last few days on our Facebook page we have been hearing about the rumours that there is mining GPU's in production and aimed for release very very soon. Well over at overclockers.co.uk they have now listed various Radeon GPU's for sale all with figures for mining Eth.

Now the figures aren't fantastic when reflected against the price but when you consider there are no 580's in stock in the UK and these are available to pre-order now this could be huge for people with GPU farms. RX480 & 580 Sell Out Uk Wide, Selling For Double On Ebay

At the time of writing, currently in the UK you cannot get an ATi 480/580 the are sold out nationwide and I am hearing reports its not just here. People have been saying this is due to shortages of processors for the units but I really do believe this is all down to one thing.... Mining

Again as I am writing this GPU mining is massively profitable again and it has absolutely boomed with all the news Bitcoin has been getting. All you have to do is look on eBay and see 480's that when new cost £150 are now selling for £300+ which is absolutely insane. It really really makes me seriously consider selling my 480 but all the time it makes a profit why should I? To all you big GPU farm owners out there, firstly I am highly jealous but secondly what are you all doing? Are you selling or holding?
